    The Snohomish County Office of the Court Appointed Special Advocate seeks to recruit and train a diverse group of volunteers and respectfully requests information about the identities you hold and the lived experiences you would bring to this volunteer position.


    This information helps us understand our volunteer demographics and improve our recruitment efforts. Please note that you are not required to answer any of these questions if you are uncomfortable doing so, and that will not impact your application.

  • CASA volunteers should expect to commit approximately 15 hours per month for the duration of their assigned case. Cases typically last 18-22 months but may be shorter or longer depending on circumstances.

  • CASA volunteers need to be comfortable working with children, foster parents, caseworkers, etc. with diverse  experiences, identities and backgrounds. Some examples of the types of diversity you may encounter are:

  • I understand that by submitting this application, I authorize inquiries to be made concerning my suitability as a volunteer.  I further acknowledge that my service as a volunteer is an at-will appointment and may be terminated by the Office of the Court Appointed Special Advocate at any time. 

    Criteria used in the selection of volunteers will be such as to insure the individual is able to meet the responsibilities of a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate. No individuals will be rejected because of race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, ancestry, national origin, or marital status/civic union or domestic partnership status. 

     
    Completion of application, interview, and preservice training process does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
